Two fresh EP’s dropped this week from artists you may not have heard of just yet:
Noa James‘ from San Bernardino, California, dropped, “Young Orca”, available here<– The man is not only large and in charge in person but dominates every beat with his heavy handed vocal approach. I recently saw Noa on stage with Curtiss King and the stage presence was just as beastly as the bars he was spitting. Cop the album and watch the new video featuring both gentlemen below!
And the beautiful, Vida Killz drops the appropriately named project, “Conversations with You”. An EP of a hauntingly strained, poetic approach over euphonious tracks. Cop it here for free<— tell me what you think.

It’s been a hell of a couple of weeks… Let’s just jump right into it:
Released yesterday by Mr,TangLee…a beautiful track listing of melodic beats…soothing, almost under-water sounds that play with time and space so eloquently. It’s a free download and certainly worth your robbery.
A plesant site for these long awaiting eyes…Mr. Myka (muthrfkn) 9 AND Abbey Rude (that’s what I call him, lol, cuz in my head- we’re down like that, lmao) released a track especially for Black History month, Gramaphone. The joint is laid over a Kenny Segal Remix ft. Dj Drez and Ryan Crosby. Nice!
Soul Khan (the grasshopper, lol) discusses his song, “Rusted Ghosts” (which was released late last year) on a new web series by Brood Baby… Cute, entertaining interview and he spits at the end. I will be keeping my eyes on future episodes of this series.

I really didn’t have time to post anything tonight…but this kid was brought to my attention today and I felt compelled. This kid’s 15 and is sure to come up quick with the right attention. The beat is somewhat reminiscent of old Exile and is accompanied with Chester Watson‘s rolling delivery, which propels the listener’s interest throughout, and to the end of the track. I’m pretty sure I posted this up on my Twitter when it first came out because it was just so striking…Homeboy Sandman brings back that 90′s real hip hop vibe: conscious, thoughtful, bars over a jazzy beat with no need for a hook. This is the kind of track that shows what an artist can really do- minimal bliss.

I love this track so much by MC Prototype. The song is a tribute to his grandmother who passed away and had battled Alzheimer’s. Very touching. Download it for $1.

Kero One drops visuals from his album, Color Theory. The sultry track is classically Kero in the way that it has a jazzy beat, but just a little different from his norm; the strings and the R&B ballad-like hook is hauntingly beautiful. Good stuff.
